On episode 28 I am joined by Scotty Taylor, the leader of the Canadian outlaw, country rock and roll group F. Scott and the Nighthawks to talk about their debut album, and one of my favourites of 2021 - Hold on to Your Heart, released on August 13, 2021. One of the things I love the most about this album is how the tracks are sequenced, the flow from one song to the next feels absolutely perfect to me. Scotty gets into the details of the production of the album, and how the combined musical influences of the band members helped to create such a cohesive mix of Americana and punk to create an album that can ultimately be defined pure and simple - as rock and roll.We talk about how their image aligns with the music, opening up sponsorship opportunities...but Scotty also gets into the hard realities they have faced as a band through the pandemic, the impact it’s had on their release process and the opportunities they had lined up but never fulfilled. It’s a conversation that I believe many artists, especially bands at their level can relate to. And it’s a perspective that I appreciate Scotty felt comfortable enough to share. If you have music you would like us to hear, or have a great release day rollout plan you want the world to know about, send an email with your EPK and release plan to: firstname.lastname@example.orgThank you so much for listening, and Welcome to Release Day!Theme music composed by Evan Denley.Reference Links:F.
